It's kind of difficult to pin down who I am exactly, because just when I start to figure it out I get bored with it and revolt. I like to work hard at everything i do. I like to climb ladders and jump off when I'm about 2/3 of the way to the top. This explains why my undergraduate degree took seven years: genetics, biology, some time off to take drafting classes, and finally settling on a degree in anthropology. I worked for a while in South Florida as a property manager and then quit to go back to law school. I'm working in Hattiesburg for a year and then I have a job waiting in Atlanta.

I also like to run but I'm not very good at staying motivated. I try to sign up for a 5K at least once a month. I never train for them, but I generally feel really guilty after getting a sucky time and then spend the next two weeks being more proactive about running.

I like to read but I didn't read for most of the time I was in law school. I recently read a Nick Hornby book, About A Boy, which I enjoyed. The last book to make me cry was Jonathan Safran Foer's Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. I get to read a lot of funny (and not so funny) deposition testimony for work. I also started read-the-bible-in-365 days at the beginning of the year. I'm kind of a science/logic/reason person, so it's just kind of a personal challenge to myself. It's pretty amazing that such a huge religion was founded on the basis of this book written by these people who had been exiled, enslaved, didn't have the benefits of education, science, technology, etc etc. I guess that sounds pretty ethnocentric, but my point is that I wonder why Christians base their faith on stories from people who lived in such a different time and place instead of their own experiences with nature and humanity. Anyway, I've enjoyed what I've read so far. I'm blogging about it, a blog that is only followed by my mom, my childhood best friend, and my former Episcopal priest.

I like new words a lot. My favorite word right now is anachronism. There's something really terrific about cracking open the dictionary. I'm a Scrabble addict, too.

I like to knit. I know, dorky old lady hobby, but I can knit one heck of a beer koozy and I'm never without a hat and scarf, which is finally a useful thing with the cooler weather.

i'm not a big sports fan. i much prefer to sit and play video games (i love the silent hill series), or table top role play (i also larp... but only sometimes star wars).

I'm well traveled, at least compared to most people. Not that I have traveled for fun, mostly I just moved around a bit before getting stuck where I am now. I love trying new things, but I'm also not one to consider something good just because it's new or different. I graduated from USM with a biochemistry degree. To me it brought the fundamental science of chemistry and applied it to biological organisms, which makes it personal and relevant.

What can I say, I'm very picky. Probably not how you are thinking. I need someone who is smart and can talk about anything with a honest and thought out opinion. I am looking for someone who is strong in areas I feel weak in myself, so I have an example and desire to better myself. I want someone who may not be perfect, but is willing to work to improve themselves. I like most things, although things on the bottom of my list are things like rap and country music, nascar, wrestling (the fake/pro kind). Stuff near the top would be, movies, games, science, history, travel when I can.

I think that its rather hard to summarize myself in a few word, so that's why there's all this writing below. It may be my ego, but hey, you always know yourself best.

By the way, I use "woos" as the equivalent of the smile-and-wave thing; if I get a woo back, then I'll send a message. If I've wooed you multiple times, it's because I forgot that I sent a woo in the past and I still find you interesting. Hopefully I'll start using the notes feature to cut down on superfluous woos.

I think the biggest thing about me is how much I value intelligence. I think it might be because I'm a massive nerd (more on the specific hobbies below), but I like people who can converse intelligently, type with proper grammar and relatively few spelling mistakes, and aren't intimidated or afraid of intelligence or knowledge. By the way, l33t speak done "for teh lols" is acceptable, as long as its for jokes.

Physically, i have a little extra pudge (i can seriously never get rid of it), and it seems to make me really ticklish. I'm pretty short, about 5'5", and i have a pretty solid frame. I have red hair, green eyes, and pale skin with freckles.

Emotionally, i'm almost always cheerful, and i have an interesting sense of humor. I actually collect jokes, so i can send them to people when they're feeling crappy. I value my friends and others i care about highly, and will go to great lengths to help them out.

My hobbies include:

Martial Arts, of which i have a black belt in Kenpo, an orange belt in Aikido, and a smattering of Gracey jujitsu, muay thai, kempo (its different from kenpo), JKD/krav maga, Escrima (squee! it's so cool) and greco-roman wrestling. By the way, I have no idea why the compare-thingie pegs me as the OKCupid equivalent of a berserker; I just know how to fight. I haven't actually used it in years (no fights since middle school), but I think it's a great hobby.

Tabletop Wargaming: I play Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Fantasy every now and then. If you don't know what it is, you buy a lot of expensive miniatures, assemble and paint them, and fight using a byzantine rule system (nerd, remember?). Hey, you don't have to like it; it's just a horribly nerdy thing I do every once in a long, long while.

Massages: I like to give massages. I've been told i give good ones, though I haven't given them in a while due to being horribly busy. *shrug*

Role-Playing: I enjoy role-playing games greatly (nerd, remember?). I am most familiar with the d20 system, and currently love 4eD&D but have experience with other systems. Again, you don't have to like them, but let me indulge in them.

Computer Gaming: I love my computer games (that nerd thing again...). Strategy games are my major interest, with role-playing games second. Other types are mixed in there. I'm not the type to totally neglect/ignore the outside world while gaming, though.

Jewelry: I acquired a jewelry hobby when i was an undergrad in college. Made myself a ring, and made some chain necklaces and bracelets for people i know. I like shiny things.

Now, even if you don't have similar hobbies, that's not a game-ender; hobbies can be the alone time a couple needs as much as they can be the glue that brings them together.

The woman i'm looking for has to have an interesting personality. She could be sweet, or she could be fiery, but she has to have an interesting personality. Intelligence is also a factor; smart girls are a turn-on. I'd like some sort of physical appeal. Doesn't have to be supermodel quality or anything like that; cute, pretty, attractive, whatever. I think the most important thing, though, is competency. I like a capable girl who can function decisively and with skill, and take care of herself. I don't particularly mind playing the "knight in shining armor" occasionally, but there is such a thing as too much. Conversely, I'd like a woman who can actually pull my ass out of the fire instead of standing in the corner making squealy noises.

I am told I am one of the most funny and out going people you will ever meet. Don't get me wrong though, I can definitely have my shy moments. I am looking for something serious. I am a classically trained musician, but I always wanted to know how to play bluegrass. Being a teacher and a mother shows that I have a lot of patience with children. I would love to meet someone who is intelligent and professional, but not a work-a-holic. I do want someone with goals and a purpose in life. He would have to like dogs because I am very attached to my American Eskimo and my little dachshund. I hope to find someone who is sincere and honest, but who has a GREAT sense of humor. This is the part where I affiliate myself with a bunch of random, complimentary adjectives, right? Boring. So, how about I start with the bad just for fun? I'm occasionally impulsive, fairly solitary, and a bit of a lush at times. I often laugh at the most inappropriate times. I am an only child, so I value my "me" time. I am an overachiever yet energetically conservative. I do just enough to get the job done better than anyone else. When I'm not working, I'm spending time with my family and friends, making music, and enjoying the world around me. I'm dynamic and open and searching for answers to all kinds of questions. Since I don't have time to travel, my searching is pretty much limited to the occasional late night Wikipedia fest. Hey, what can you do? I like to keep my space and my life simple. I'm learning to downsize; sometimes, less really is more. Sometimes. I just go with the flow. If life gives you lemons, keep them, because hey... free lemons.

I graduated from USM with a degree in Management Information Systems and currently work as a systems administrator at USM. I am a hard working, Christian individual who places a high value on family and friends. I enjoy going out and doing all sorts of things, but equally enjoy just staying in and relaxing. I really enjoy running and cycling. I love to travel to different places, always up for a good road trip. Itâ??s hard to say what a perfect match would be. I love making lists with bullet points. I think DVR is one of the greatest inventions. Perfume makes me indescribably happy. I take great pride in my note-taking abilities; my notes have always been impeccable. I have an unnatural love of Sharpies. I refuse to apologize for things I am interested in. I feel like I missed out on important life lessons by not riding the school bus.

Well lets see.... I am a paramedic in hattiesburg. I love what i do most days. I want to be a doctor at some point, but I am actually taking a break from school at the moment due to being over worked and over schooled.

I have a dog named daisy. She is a beagle mix... aka "shelter dog". As of right now her happiness is my happiness. The wonderful thing about dogs is that no matter what you do they love you and are always excited when you walk in the same room.

I am a jeep guy! I have owned two. My first car and now this one. When it's paid for it will be a mud riding beast.

I love the outdoors. Hiking, camping, mountain biking, kayaking, or just hanging out on a sand bar with friends, it doesn't matter as long as it's outside!

I also enjoy a good movie night just chilling on the floor with take out and a good movie. I truly believe that rainy days should be reserved for that and/or just laying in bed all day being lazy!

I'm a fairly outgoing person. I'm not very big on going to parties or large group events but will if it seems interesting enough. Or if someone manages to convince me otherwise. I enjoy cooking, the meals I can put my heart into turn out better than anything else I could eat. If I get stressed or bored I will clean mainly because I'm a bit of a neat freak. I'm also very energetic and goofy. But I've been told that it's only a positive aspect about me.

I have a knack for validating people and the ability to be comfortable (and make others) in any situation. Very little passes by me, and I find people are open books (whether they choose to be or not). I believe we were made in the image of God, and as such we all need and long for the same things. Everyone is a worshipper. What are you worshipping?
Apparently, I'm humorous. I'm a mother. My children are amazingly brilliant, gracious, kind, and funny. They are a constant reminder that it's all grace.

I love a good Pinot Noir and think most meals should be accompanied by it. I like to treat every dinner as though it's a celebration (because I think food is a gift we take for granted.) The evening meal is mandatory in our home everyone sit your butt down, cell phones off, phone off the hook event. Nothing is ever canned or frozen (well, sometimes, but not very often. Like, I buy chickpeas in the can.) Everyone participates in preparing and cleaning up after the meal. I don't believe there should be tv's in bedrooms or kitchens. I don't allow locks on bedroom doors or lazy boys in my home. If I invite you for dinner and you steal from me, if your hungry, I'll invite you again. (Suppose that was a bit of a non-sequiter). Fast food happens, but it's avoided as much as possible. When we do ewat it out, it's Thai, or the local coffee/record store, or sushi, or one of those meals that takes five hours. No one ever eats in front of a tv in my house. The tv is in a room off to the side. My house will never revolve around the room with the tv. Does that tell you much?

I love art, but if it's a still life of flowers and a vase, I will walk right past it. I hate the dirty side of life, so I avoid news (and I loathe Fox). I know that's pathetic. By the same token, I work in it, live in it. Give me a broken down building in the middle of gunshots over a gated community any day. I guess that makes me a bit of an oxymoron. As a christian, my life's work is to share the peace and love only Christ gives, and I'm not the one to share it with rich white folks. That being said, I'm Presbyterian, love Mark Driscoll's preaching, and am the daughter of very wealthy white folks. Go figure...

i love to bake and spend time with friends, but that does not mean that i dont totally value some alone time now and again. but i think i've had plenty of that of late and wouldn't mind having someone to spend some of that down time with a really good friend or otherwise

Really though, I'm fun to talk to. Right now, I'm not looking for a relationship, but I'm a great friend to have. I'll gladly do anything to help out my friends. Well, anything within my power. (but i'm not stinky.) i don't have a lot of money, but i am happy with what i have. i was married once for a short time. i don't really like bars. i never finished college, nor do i plan on going back. i would love to have a small cabin in the woods that i built with my own hands. i don't go out much. i miss tabletop roleplaying with my friends. i currently live in kind of a shithole called SkidRow. i work at a natural grocery and i love my job. i don't have a car; i like to walk or bike to get where i need to go. i used to be fat and i will never go back. i like walking around downtown at night and moving parking cones. i am playful. i enjoy the rain, reading late at night, giving back massages and cooking. i have an awesome cat named Cheese. his poop smells kind of bad. i have a passable british accent, an indecipherable scottish accent, and a terrific japanese accent. i try to listen to the voices in my head at least a little. i'd like to meet a fun and mellow girl i can curl up on the couch with. let's put on our pajamas and go out on a date. any questions?

I am a fairly independent woman who likes the simple things, my son is my life but I really like time with my friends, chillin or just whatever comes along. I like playing pool (really terrible at it), fishing (don't get to go enough), and just whatever sounds good at the time. In the summer I like to tend my little garden, something about watching things grow.
