Oak Grove Lower Elementary School Reviews

I was a sub teacher this past year with all the Oak Grove Schools and I have never seen any discrimination of students. I hate when someone comments about this every time something is going on. Students are treated as equal and I must say it was a pleasure to sub for them...I got first hand of how hard they work for such pathetic pay! If the only error one finds is not having a certain race or creed at one showing...geeze why not praise the great job the teacher did more and less on your idea of fairness! Thanks teachers...enjoy your time off!

I have one child currently attending OGLE ,as a black parent I've notice a difference in this school . My son's first grade teacher was not a good teacher .His second grade teacher has been great . I'm very observant and notice certain things that is not right, that goes on there. Case and point when they did the official opening of the OGLE new school in January 2008,there was no students of color invited to stand out there with the principal and staff. Why you must ask the school.I don't wont special favor for my child just fairness. And yes my child is an 'A' student and does very well but fair is fair and wrong is wrong.

I have had two children in this school and can say nothing but positive things about it. The quality of education is exceptional and the teachers and staff are creative and caring. As a stay at home mom, I spend a great deal of time at the school and have never encountered anything negative. In this world where all you read about public schools is bad, I am proud to be a part of a school that shows the system still works.

I have one child in ogle, but I have two others that have been through the lower elementary and let me say that I was very pleased with the school. The teachers that my boys have had has been awesome. They know their stuff and they are very creative in ways for the kids to learn. The teachers are friendly, intelligent, and cares about the welfare of the children. I have found them very easy to talk to about any problems that arises. I am satisfied as a parent with teacher qualities, principal leadership, and how they encourage parents to participate in everything. One of my major concerns is the safety issue. I personally don't think that there is enough security. There is easy access to the school. I would like to see that issue addressed in the near future, due to prior small incidences. Overall, the school is excellent!

I have 2 children in OGLE. Both have had a great experience and have received a quality education. I am in education and have found the teachers and administrative personnel very helpful in my children's education. The staff are very involved in the classroom environment and we have been pleased with the availability of the teachers and staff for consultation. The academic programs have provided adequate challenges to my children and both are involved in the excel program to further advance their education. The arts program is growing and financial support from the community is increasing greatly. Lamar County is growing rapidly and the district is doing a great job in handling the increased enrollment with the funds available to them. All in all, the environment is very conducive for learning and development of the children into productive members of society.

We moved to the area in 2004 from wi and i have 2 children attending ogle. I am not all that impressed with the school nor it's educational program, but it does depends who your child gets for a teacher. My daughter's 1st grade teacher was not a good teacher for her, but her 2nd grade was wonderful. So far my son has had good teachers for 2nd and 3rd. However, the office staff is rude. When entering the office you never get a greeting of any kind. They either look at you or pretend they do not see you. I have on occassions stood in the office for a good 20 mins before anyone acknowledge my presence. Ogle so far has not been the best school my children have attended.

I am very unhappy with the quality of the teaching in the oak grove area. We moved to ms in 2004 and heard all the rave about the oak grove school district. My daughter goes to ogle and we have had nothing but problems. The staff is very rude and do not care about the children. We are planning a move in the near future and i will not be staying in the oak grove school zone. I would not recommend the oak grove school dristrict to my worst enemy.

OGLE is a good school my child has been there for 2 years. She enjoy the school and the environment. I have had know conflict with the school or its staff. I would recommend the school. Remember that you must staff involve to keep up with the progress.

I have 2 children in OGLE and we love the school. We have found the staff to be very helpful and very caring about the students. I also graduated from OGHS in 1988. I would not have chosen any other school for my children because I know they care, and they challenge their students to do their best. To all those considering OG you can research yourselves and let the test scores speak for themselves, as well as the % of students that go on to college and receive degrees and are very successful! Oak Grove schools are the Best in the state!

OGLE is a big school that strives to make every student feel recognized and special. Because of our size and the mobility of our campus we are very serious about policies and procedures in order to provide a safe and orderly school environment. It is unfortunate that not everyone sees our efforts as trying to create the best environment for all children. Our teachers and staff are deeply dedicated and share a common agenda - the mission statement of our school district. We have a happy school with students who perform well - a Level 5 school - the highest accreditation level awarded by our state! I would encourage prospective parents to come and visit to determine if this is the school for their family!

My son just started school here recently and he loves it. The teachers are great as well as the learning environments. I give Oak Grove Lower Elemntary an A+. To the teachers and staff keep up the ahrd work, it sure is paying off.

I moved to this area and have had my child attending classes at this school. I must say that I am not at all pleased with either the staff, the learning environment, or the policies of the school.I have found the teachers, too concerned with their own personal agendas, the staff rude and uncaring, the over all nit picking policies of the school, frustrating and unnecessarily rigid. I feel that what passes for education there, is merely covert manipulation of students in disguise. Overall, I give this school an F.

I moved to Oak Grove District from north Mississippi a year ago. After much debate, I chose to live in OGLE school district because of the positive things I had heard about the school. I must say that I have found them ALL to be TRUE! My kids were behind the education level of Oak Grove School District, however, they are very much enjoying it in Oak Grove, and the teachers and other school staff have helped my children to catch up to the levels of Oak Grove School, with no major crisis. I feel the teachers at Oak Grove go the extra mile to help their students, and to keep parents informed of progress. This is very important to me. I am proud to say that my children attend OGLE.
